Job summary

Oxford Global Resources in Longview, TX seeks a Systems Engineer II to manage Windows/Messaging/O365 platforms and collaborate with vendors, project managers, system admins, DBAs, developers and end users to optimize server and application performance. You will provide implementation, troubleshooting and maintenance support for IT systems within your scope.

The role requires 5–8 years of systems support, strong Windows/Linux/AD expertise, IIS and database skills, plus scripting experience.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree or related experience; Bachelor's degree preferred.
• 5-8 years of systems support (Azure plus Linux/Windows/AD).
• Experience configuring Ubuntu and IIS.
• Experience maintaining databases like MS SQL or MySQL.
• 2-4 years automating via a scripting language; 2-4 years as a senior technical team member.

Responsibilities

• Consult with systems users and Software Engineering on IT improvements and troubleshooting solutions.
• Act as Software Engineer liaison on supported product.
• Build and facilitate Product/Vendor relationships.
• Participate on cross-functional teams to execute product enhancements.
• Back up Helpdesk and support end users as needed.

Job description

Summary:

The Systems Engineer II position for our Windows/Messaging/O365 platforms and will routinely work with vendors, project managers, system administrators, database administrators, application developers and end users to maintain and improve the performance of our servers, databases and applications. Provide support for implementation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of IT systems and solutions offered within their area of control.

Project Details:

• Consult with systems users and Software Engineering throughout the organization on IT improvements and troubleshooting solution
• Software Engineer liaison on supported product
• Build and facilitate Product/Vendor relationship
• Participation on cross-functional teams to execute product enhancement plan
• Build, develop, assist and maintain technical language to improve efficiencies for front line employees and enhance the end customer experience
• Serve as backup to Helpdesk
• All other duties as assigned

Job Experience:

• Associate's degree or related experience, Bachelor's degree preferred
• 5-8 years of systems support (combination of 3-5 with Azure plus 2 years or more of Linux server, Windows server, or Active Directory
• Experience with configuring Ubuntu as well as experience with IIS
• Experience in maintaining databases like DB Technologies, MS SQL, or MYSQL
• 2-4 years of experience automating through a scripting language
• 2-4 years of experience being a senior member of a technical team
