Job summary

Meso Scale Diagnostics LLC in Gaithersburg, MD is seeking a Systems Engineer I to support requirements, specifications, integration, and verification of electromechanical and imaging systems used in MSD instrumentation.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyze data, characterize performance, and contribute to design verification, validation plans, and reliability testing, while helping automate and document assay processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Systems, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering or a closely related field.
• Associate's degree with commensurate experience may be substituted.
• Experience in scientific or medical instrumentation preferred, including various manufacturing methods/options and design ROI in a project driven environment.
• Experience in an ISO cGMP environment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Work within cross-functional teams to support the design and development of MSD instrumentation.
• Provide input into analyses of data, drawing conclusions, presenting findings and making recommendations on relevant data.
• Experimentally and analytically characterize system and subsystem performance and capabilities.
• Participate in the design, implementation, and optimization of software sequences for automation of manual assay protocols on MSD instrumentation.
• Participate in the development and documentation of failure modes, effects and criticality analyses.
• Participate in the development of system design requirements and specifications.
• Participate in the development and execution of system design verification and validation test plans.
• Participate in the development and implementation of system and subsystem reliability test plans.
• Generate and implement change orders to promote product design and process improvements.
• Specific duties may vary depending upon departmental requirements.
