Job summary

General Dynamics Electric Boat in Groton, CT seeks a System Administrator (software Engineer) to manage the Ship Signatures SECRET Network, a DoD-labeled LAN. The role requires independent work across shipyard and offsite locations, with occasional travel and no remote work.

You will administer Windows and Linux servers, deploy images with LANDESK/SCCM, harden systems to DoD STIG, test hardware, and support engineers while ensuring security requirements and AD/GPO configurations meet program

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
2+ years of experience with RedHat operating systems
2+ years of experience with Microsoft operating systems
LANDESK or SCCM experience
Experience imaging, testing, troubleshooting and repairing desktop computers
Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD SECRET clearance

Responsibilities

Administration of Windows & Linux servers
LANDESK for software imaging and delivery
Desktop and server image and software deployments
Hardening and maintaining servers to DoD STIG settings
Testing systems and performing pre-installation testing of new desktop hardware
Providing user support
Interpreting, implementing and testing security requirements
Active Directory (AD) and Group Policy Object (GPO) configurations to meet security requirements
