Job summary

General Dynamics Electric Boat in Groton, CT, is seeking an Engineer I/II - Software focused on system administration for a SECRET network. Responsibilities include admin of Windows & Linux servers, imaging via LANDESK/SCCM, and enforcing DoD STIG security.

The role requires DoD SECRET clearance eligibility and willingness for on-site work at EB Groton Shipyard. Ideal candidates have 1–5 years postgrad engineering experience with RedHat and Windows, plus AD/GPO expertise and scripting skills.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in CS or engineering field; multiple disciplines acceptable.
1-5 years of post graduate engineering experience.
2+ years of RedHat operating systems experience.
2+ years of Microsoft operating systems experience.
LANDESK or SCCM experience for imaging and deployment.
Experience imaging, testing, troubleshooting and repairing desktops.
Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD SECRET clearance.

Responsibilities

Administration of Windows & Linux servers.
LANDESK for software imaging and delivery.
Desktop and server image and software deployments.
Hardening and maintaining servers and desktops to DoD STIG settings.
Testing systems daily, weekly, monthly; pre-installation testing of new hardware.
Maintaining computer hardware and peripherals; imaging and repairs.
Software maintenance (patches, licenses, configuration, removal).
Providing user support.
Interpreting and testing security requirements.
Active Directory and GPO configurations to meet security requirements.
Must support flexible work hours; work with engineers on integration.
Work independently on shipyard and offsite locations; occasional travel.
