Job summary

AFRY USA seeks a Building Systems Mechanical Engineer to design HVAC, plumbing and fire protection for industrial facilities. You will join multi-discipline teams, produce construction drawings, and mentor staff.

The role requires a BS in architectural or mechanical engineering, 5+ years in building mechanicals, and PE licensure or eligibility within one year. Proficiency in Revit, BIM, AutoCAD, Navisworks, Bluebeam, and MS Office is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in architectural or mechanical engineering.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in Building Mechanical Engineering.
• Knowledge with HVAC, Plumbing, and Fire Protection codes and standards (IBC, IMC, IPC, IFC, ASHRAE, ASPE).
• Professional Engineer license or ability to be licensed within one year.
• Proficiency with Revit, BIM, AutoCAD, Navisworks, Bluebeam, and MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Perform as the engineer for projects from concept through construction with limited oversight, managing quality, budget, and schedule.
• Assist in preparation of proposals and marketing materials with scope definitions.
• Establish project scope, budgets, and design approach for building systems.
• Meet with clients to assist in preliminary planning and identify design concepts.
• Collaborate with other disciplines to deliver successful projects on time and within budget.
• Design Building mechanical systems/components for various industrial facilities per AFRY standards.
• Lead and mentor junior staff and coordinate site visits to collect data and observe construction.
