Job summary

Worky is seeking a systems engineer to assess, design, upgrade and maintain complex IT infrastructures. You will monitor performance events, automate tasks with PowerShell, Linux shells, Python or JavaScript, and support VMs, containers and Kubernetes clusters using Ivanti and M365/Azure tools.

Strong networking knowledge and Windows patch management experience are required. A BS/BA in IT/CS and excellent communication skills are expected, with on-call rotation and cross-team collaboration.

Qualifications

• BS/BA in Information Technology, Computer Science or a related discipline.
• Experience with scripting including proficiency in Windows PowerShell and Linux shell scripting is a must.
• Strongly recommend: Ability to create scripts in Python, JavaScript or other programming languages.
• Experience with M365 administration (M365/Azure).
• In depth knowledge of networking (LAN, WAN, TCP/IP stack)
• Hands on experience on Windows updates and patch management automation tools (Ivanti preferred).
• Knowledge of system security and data backup/recovery.
• Familiarity with Linux and Kubernetes is a strong plus.

Responsibilities

• Assess systems, determine problems, provide solutions, design and upgrade systems.
• Monitor and respond to performance events for VMs, containers and hardware.
• Maintain VMs, container clusters and services; review security events with security team.
• Create automated scripts for AD/Windows and Linux environments.
• Operate Kubernetes clusters and Microsoft Cloud administration (M365/Azure).
• Ensure timely Windows updates and patch management.
• Collaborate with IT teams, vendors and management on projects.
