JOB SUMMARY
Client is seeking a highly skilled System Engineer to support and enhance enterprise infrastructure platforms in a client-facing environment. This role requires strong expertise in Windows Server technologies, Microsoft Azure, and automation-driven build processes. The engineer will work closely with a distributed team, engage with client stakeholders daily, and serve as an on-call escalation engineer to ensure rapid resolution of critical issues and high service availability.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, build, configure, and maintain Windows Server infrastructure across on-premises and Microsoft Azure environments.
- Automate server build, configuration, and deployment processes using PowerShell.
- Develop, maintain, and enhance CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins.
- Implement and manage Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) using Terraform Enterprise.
- Act as an on-call escalation engineer on a rotational basis.
- Perform advanced troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, and performance tuning for Windows, Azure, and identity-related issues.
- Engage in daily client interactions, providing technical updates and supporting service reviews.
- Collaborate with a team of engineers across infrastructure, cloud, security, and application domains.
- Support change management activities, releases, and production deployments.
- Create and maintain technical documentation, build standards, automation artifacts, and operational runbooks.
- Identify opportunities for automation, optimization, and service improvement.
Required Qualifications
- Strong experience with Windows Server technologies (build, patching, upgrades, troubleshooting, lifecycle management).
- Advanced scripting and automation expertise using PowerShell.
- Solid experience supporting Microsoft Azure infrastructure and services.
- Experience with Jenkins for CI/CD pipeline development and automation.
- Working knowledge of Terraform Enterprise for Infrastructure-as-Code deployments.
- Experience supporting production systems and participating in on-call / escalation support rotations.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to interact confidently with clients and engineering teams.
Preferred Qualifications
- Java or Groovy experience, particularly for Jenkins pipeline scripting and automation enhancements.
- Hands-on experience with Group Policy (GPO) management in enterprise environments.
- Knowledge of security best practices, server hardening, and compliance standards.
- Experience working in hybrid cloud or large-scale enterprise environments.
