Job summary

FBT Gibbons LLP is seeking a Systems Engineer to support deployment, maintenance, and performance of the firm’s software applications for attorneys and professionals. The role can be based in Cincinnati, OH or Louisville, KY.

The candidate will install, configure, deploy, monitor, and maintain applications, collaborate with IT teams, and provide third-level support. A bachelor’s degree and 3+ years of relevant experience are required.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree required.
3+ years in software systems implementation, upgrades, maintenance and support in a professional services environment.
Experience with software management, distribution and endpoint configuration using Configuration Manager/Intune and policy compliance.
Experience administering Microsoft technologies including Active Directory, Entra ID, Microsoft 365, SharePoint, Exchange Online, Windows Server, SQL Server, and Azure Virtual Desktop.
PowerShell scripting for deployment, configuration, troubleshooting, patching and lifecycle management.
Proficiency with legal/business applications (e.g., NetDocuments) and productivity tools in a law firm or professional services setting.
Experience documenting standard configurations for laptops/desktops with Windows 11; evaluating hardware upgrades.
Strong analytical, troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities; capable of handling multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

Install, configure, deploy, monitor, and maintain on-premises and cloud-based software applications.
Collaborate with Application, Network, and Security teams to resolve issues.
Monitor tickets and respond as needed.
Package, test, and deploy line-of-business and legal applications (document management, time-and-billing, productivity tools).
Manage application lifecycle, including patching and upgrades.
Provide third-level application support for escalated issues.
Maintain standard images deployed to firm computers.
Document configuration standards, support procedures, and troubleshooting guides.
Monitor performance, reliability, and availability; propose improvements.
Support integrations between firm applications, Microsoft 365, DMS, and other platforms.
Develop scripts/automation to streamline deployment, configuration, maintenance, reporting.
Provide guidance and knowledge transfer to IT support teams.
Support change management with documented proposals, testing, steps, and rollback plans.
