Systems Drives Field Service Technician

This position reports to the Systems Drives Operations Manager.

Your Role and Responsibilities

In this role, you will have the opportunity to execute service work according to work instructions and in compliance with ABB quality and safety guidelines. The work model is remote, contributing to Process Industries in the Georgia/Southern region.

You will be mainly responsible for:

1. Supervising the installation of new equipment at customer sites according to manufacturer specifications.
2. Interpreting maintenance manuals, schematics, and software tools; repairing equipment using electronics knowledge, test instruments, computers, and hand tools.
3. Leading service and repair of ABB equipment, instructing customers in electrical theory and operation of ABB Drives, and leading drive system commissioning projects.
4. Consulting with engineering personnel to resolve system operation and maintenance issues.

Qualifications

• Associates degree in a related field with 2+ years of work or military experience, or a high school diploma/GED with 4+ years of related experience.
• Understanding of AC and DC drive systems.
• Experience in field service engineering for AC and DC drive systems, using test equipment such as oscilloscopes, data loggers, PDMA motor testing, and CMC measurements. Experience with ABB 800xA is a plus.
