Job summary

The Aerospace Corporation is a premier space technology organization actively supporting national security space missions. The Systems Director will lead Next Gen OPIR – GEO development and operations, directing a multidisciplinary team across El Segundo, Sunnyvale, and Denver, with on-site work at El Segundo or Denver.

The role requires deep experience in space vehicle development, integration and test, launch ops, and space-ground software integration, plus a strong grasp of system engineering

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related technical discipline.
• 12+ years in space system acquisition or systems engineering with technical leadership.
• Experience with a matrixed engineering organization.
• Knowledge of space system engineering processes and end-to-end operations.

Responsibilities

• Establish objectives, grow and develop the Aerospace team, and participate in budget/resource planning.
• Lead enterprise requirements trades, space enterprise testing, and mission performance analyses.
• Coordinate anomaly investigations and guidance for USSF customers.
• Guide engagement for baseline operations and launch/initialization of next-gen missions.
