Job summary

Amazon.com Services LLC in Massachusetts seeks a Systems Development Engineer to lead the development and deployment of advanced fulfillment technologies. You will bridge Fulfillment Center Operations with product development, delivering scalable, safe, and high‑quality solutions across the deployment lifecycle.

You will own design, testing, and field deployment activities, collaborate across teams, and travel up to 75% to support North American sites.

Qualifications

Experience automating, deploying, and supporting large-scale infrastructure.
Programming experience with modern languages (Python, Ruby, Java, C++, etc.).
Experience with Linux/Unix environments.
3+ years in control systems design, development, and deployment (PLC/IPC).
Experience with automated material handling equipment and robotics.
Demonstrated life-cycle embedded systems development (hardware/software).
Experience with industrial networking and Fieldbus basics.
Experience with 3‑phase electrical systems.

Responsibilities

Support installation of complex cross-functional projects spanning geographies.
Collaborate with internal/external engineering teams to deliver high‑quality, on‑time projects.
Establish milestones, drive schedules, and present KPI metrics to evaluate success.
Deep-dive technical solutions covering conveyors, material handling, and commissioning.
Participate in design reviews and coordinate with vendors on specs and layouts.
Communicate project status with clear summaries to program management.
Capture Voice of Customer for new product introductions and prioritization.
Build relationships with Fulfillment Center/Sort Center teams and stakeholders.
Identify process improvements across operations and geographic nodes.
Travel up to 75% across North America.
