The Systems Analyst 3 position analyzes, configures, designs, and implements enterprise-level applications, with a focus on academic and student lifecycle technology, including planning, programming, testing, and debugging within established standards, to support the organization's application systems in relational database, client‑server, and internet environments.
Analyze business and academic problems and application requests, considering limitations imposed by the current technical environment, standards, time requirements, personnel and financial resources, and desired results. Assist with the development of scope, objectives, and cost‑benefit analyses for use in determining accepted projects. May develop project plans for proposed systems, including tasks, costs, and time estimates in relational databases, client-server, and Internet environments.
Develop systems design plans assisted by Business Systems Analysts and within established standards to document system specifications to facilitate the development and implementation of application systems and modifications in accordance with project deadlines. Identify gaps in current technology and process infrastructure, investigate options, make recommendations, prototype solutions, and/or evaluate vendor solutions.
Assist internal and external system support personnel in the diagnosis and correction of system problems and the application of upgrades or system enhancements to assist in resolving problems in a timely manner. Troubleshoot system component failures as they occur and provide solutions.
Participate in business systems analysts fit‑gap studies, reviews, and walk‑throughs of functional requirements, system design, program specifications, test plans, and results in accordance with established standards. Program, test, and document systems according to standards to minimize system problems and ensure quality control. May act as project leader of a large programming project.
Provide task information regarding assigned projects to the project leader or manager in a timely manner.
Mentor and assist with training technical personnel in ITS and institution‑wide, ensuring technical personnel/users possess required knowledge of system applications, standards, operations, and capabilities.
Assist junior‑level analysts and programming staff with technical issues to ensure they gain the required knowledge of system applications, standards, operations, and capabilities.
Perform other related duties/projects as assigned.
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with four years of experience in programming and system analysis
• Associate’s degree from an accredited college or university with six years of experience in programming and system analysis
• Experience with implementation of vendor‑provided, enterprise‑level application systems such as Banner and Oracle RDBMS environment
• Experience with HTML, Java/JSP, PL/SQL, Pro*C, SQL, Python, API
• Experience implementing or developing application systems using formalized project management methodology
• Experience with implementation of vendor‑provided, enterprise‑level application systems such as PeopleSoft and SCT Banner in an Oracle RDBMS environment
• Experience with HTML, Java/JSP, Javascript, Oracle Forms, PL/SQL, Pro*C, SQL
• Experience with Data Warehousing, ERP Systems, Identity Management, Java Application Servers, Java IDEs, J2EE, LDAP/Directory Services, Portals, SOA/Web Services, XML and XSLT
• Knowledge of computer security procedures and protocols
Proficient in Microsoft Office and other computer software/databases
Knowledge of all phases of the project development cycle, project management tools and documentation needs and techniques
Knowledge of structured systems methodologies, data mapping techniques, and a broad range of relevant multi‑user applications
Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
Ability to maintain confidentiality
Proven ability to communicate effectively verbally, in writing, and through formal presentations at the technical and non‑technical level
Proven ability to develop an effective, collaborative working relationship with a variety of representative groups with potentially dissimilar priorities
Ability to design, conduct, and evaluate systems testing with a focus on IDM integrations; research and evaluate the suitability of application software and hardware products
Ability to design, develop, and implement integrated application systems solutions to organizational requirements using relational database client‑server, and internet technologies with knowledge and experience specifically focused on identity management and methodologies and solutions
Shift: Days; M‑F (Work outside of the standard business hours may be required).
Pay Grade: B15
Salary: $82,800 - $98,340.20 annually
Benefits: Health insurance, dental insurance, life insurance, Teachers Retirement System (or Optional Retirement Plan), earned vacation time, sick leave, and 13 paid holidays. Full‑time employees who have been employed successfully for more than 6 months may be considered for the Tuition Assistance Program.

Motor vehicle reports are required for positions that require driving an Augusta University vehicle.
