Job summary

Paycom - ATS in Madison, WI is seeking a Systems Administrator to engineer, configure, and install solutions for Windows desktops and servers, SD-WAN networks and VoIP systems. You will respond to helpdesk tickets, escalate alerts, and investigate failures to resolve service-level problems.

Responsibilities include maintaining IT operations, applying OS patches, managing virtualization, backups, and disaster recovery while collaborating with teams and documenting processes.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in computer sciences or related discipline.
• 1–3 years of IT helpdesk or IT specialist experience including system administration.
• Knowledge of telecommunications and phone equipment (3CX preferred).
• Experience with Windows server and desktop operating systems.
• Experience with server virtualization (VMware, Hyper-V).
• Experience with Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS.
• Experience with networking (LAN/WAN, routers, switches, VPNs, DHCP, DNS).
• Office365 administration and integration.
• Experience with SAN, Azure, AWS is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Engineer, configure, and install solutions for Windows desktops and servers, SD-WAN networks, and VoIP systems.
• Respond to helpdesk tickets and end-user requests, escalated system alerts, investigate and recover failures; resolve service-level problems.
• Maintain IT operations across OS, security tools, applications, servers, virtualization, email, laptops and desktops.
• Install and upgrade components and software, manage virtual servers, and integrate automation processes.
• Apply OS patches and upgrades regularly to maintain a stable and secure environment with automation.
• Troubleshoot hardware and software errors, document problems and resolutions, assess impact.
• Perform regular backups and disaster recovery procedures; ensure data protection and failover.
• Lead desktop and helpdesk support efforts to resolve issues promptly with minimal disruption.
• Interact with helpdesk and other teams to troubleshoot, identify root cause, provide support when needed.
• Own projects, solutions, and responsibilities within larger business initiatives.
• Develop and maintain team documentation.
• Travel to branches as required; provide off-hour support when necessary.
