Job summary

University of Dayton is seeking a Systems Administrator to support the Sustainment Technologies Transition and the Research Information Technology Office at UDRI. You will assist with software applications, user accounts, and IT security duties while providing excellent customer service.

The role emphasizes troubleshooting, remote access, and collaboration across teams to resolve issues and maintain system availability. U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain a Secret clearance are required.

Qualifications

• BS degree in a relevant field with 3+ years of experience or an associate's degree with 5+ years of experience.
• Knowledge of IT industry best practices and software administration support.
• Experience providing excellent customer support and strong communication skills.
• Familiarity with managing cloud and virtual environments.
• Familiarity with troubleshooting computer hardware issues.
• Ability to read, write, and understand technical manuals and guides.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance and pass a Tier 1 investigation.
• U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain security clearance due to government contracts.

Responsibilities

• Provide system administration support for UDRI software applications and IT needs.
• Characterize and diagnose customer problems using information gathering and management platforms.
• Resolve tickets or escalate with documented symptoms and steps taken.
• Create user accounts and document access while ensuring security safeguards.
