Job summary

Leidos has an exciting opportunity for a Systems Administrator to work with the IT team at the Portsmouth, OH site, supporting infrastructure for both physical and virtual environments. You will manage AD, storage, permissions, and group policy while collaborating with Cyber Security and other teams to ensure secure, efficient systems.

The role requires a BA/BS in CS or IT, the ability to obtain a DOE Q clearance, and a track record of independent work in a fast-paced setting.

Qualifications

• BA/BS in Computer Science or IT from an accredited university.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a DOE Q security clearance.
• Detail-oriented with strong analytical, technical and problem-solving skills.
• Experience in Windows and Server OS and/or Oracle, RHEL and Linux.
• Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily system administration for physical and virtual environments.
• Manage IT server infrastructure and hosted systems incl. AD, permissions and Group Policy.
• Support first-tier staff and resolve complex software/tool issues.
• Analyze and resolve hardware/software problems for end users.
• Administer Omnissa/VMware platforms across the site and related tech.
• Engage with vendors to troubleshoot and resolve issues.
• Recommend hardware/software to meet IT needs and support cyber security compliance.
• Coordinate with internal departments to align objectives and requirements.
• Maintain up-to-date documentation and incident resolution guides.
• Remediate security vulnerabilities and assist cyber security team.
