Leidos is seeking a Senior Systems Administrator for the Portsmouth (Piketon, OH) site to independently manage IT infrastructure and support a mixed physical and virtual environment. You’ll oversee Active Directory, storage, permissions, and Group Policy, while collaborating with Cyber Security and other IT teams.

The role emphasizes troubleshooting complex issues, maintaining enterprise systems, and ensuring security compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field with 4–8 years of relevant experience; OR a Master’s degree with 2–6 years of experience.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE Q security clearance.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities.
• Exceptional analytical, technical, and problem-solving skills with proven success in enterprise systems administration.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.
• Experience with Microsoft Windows and Server Operating Systems and/or Oracle, RHEL, and Linux Operating Systems.
• Hands-on experience in maintenance, operation, and troubleshooting of enterprise systems and networks.
• Solid operational knowledge of Microsoft and/or Linux platforms, as well as network equipment, topology, and architectures.
• Ability to read and execute complex software installation, upgrade, and infrastructure deployment instructions.
• Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively across teams.

Responsabilités

• Perform daily system administration, operation and maintenance support activities in a physical and virtual environment.
• Provide primary support and management of the IT server infrastructure and hosted systems (Active Directory, permissions, storage, Group Policy).
• Support first-tier staff with troubleshooting and resolution of more complex issues related to software tools, applications, databases, and system access.
• Analyze and resolve hardware and software problems for end users, focusing on server-related issues.
• Support System Administration of primary Omnissa/VMware platforms across the site.
• Work with hardware/software vendors to analyze, troubleshoot and resolve issues.
• Recommend hardware and software solutions to meet end user and IT needs.
• Support Cyber Security compliance and audit preparation in coordination with the Cyber Security Team.
• Consult with internal departments to identify customer needs and include into objectives.
• Remain conversant with industry security technology and practices with relevant experience.
• Define and document best practices, technical guides and support procedures.
• Interact with cross functional project teams across departments.
• Participate in creating and maintaining documentation for incident resolution.
• Remediate security vulnerabilities.
• Communicate effectively via Microsoft Teams, email and phone.
