Job summary

UAB Medicine HSIS is seeking a Server Administrator to ensure the stability and performance of enterprise server environments, including Windows and Linux hosts, virtual machines, storage, authentication, and backup systems. You will install, monitor, maintain, and document server systems, provide training to staff, and help keep critical clinical and business applications available.

The role requires a strong foundation in Windows and Linux server platforms, Active Directory, virtualization

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in Information Systems or a related field; four (4) years of related experience required.
• Work experience may substitute for education requirement.

Responsibilities

• Provision, install/configure, operate, and maintain systems hardware and software and related infrastructure.
• Ensure system hardware, operating systems, software systems, and related procedures meet organizational standards.
• Investigate and troubleshoot issues; repair and recover from hardware or software failures.
• Coordinate and communicate with impacted business units.
• Manage workflow using an enterprise ticketing system.
• Windows Server Build and Administration.
• Participate in technical research and development to enable innovation within the infrastructure.
• Respond to emergency server outages per business continuity plans.
• Create and maintain documentation related to server configuration and service records.
• Maintain server asset management and inventories.
