JOB TITLE: Systems Administrator (Senior)

GOVERNMENT AGENCY: Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), Infrastructure Services & Back Office Support (ISBOS)

LOCATION: Onsite Position at the FBI CJIS location in Clarksburg, WV

POSITION TIMING: Contingent on award; expected contract start date June 2025

ITC is seeking an experiencedSenior Systems Administratorto join our team supporting theFederal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) Division. This key role will involve managing and optimizing system administration processes, mentoring junior administrators, and ensuring the seamless operation of critical applications and network systems.

As a Senior Systems Administrator, you will be responsible for installing, configuring, upgrading, and patching network, monitoring, and logging applications. You will troubleshoot complex system and application issues, ensuring high performance and security across the infrastructure. You will work closely with stakeholders to assess future system needs, scale infrastructure, and ensure compliance with industry regulations and standards.

This role also includes managing and enforcing application security policies, providing user access controls, and responding swiftly to any application-related outages or security incidents. You will be expected to document network configurations and procedures comprehensively using tools like Jira and Confluence. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with various operating systems (Windows, Linux, Unix), networking protocols, and cloud technologies, as well as strong skills in scripting (Python, Bash). Anactive Top Secret clearanceis required, with prior FBI program experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Manage and mentor junior administrators on application management best practices and providing technical support.
• Evaluate and provide guidance for the selection of applicable network hardware and software vendors.
• Install, upgrade, patch, and configure complex network, monitoring, and logging applications across the organization.
• Monitor application performance, identifying bottlenecks, and implementing tuning strategies to maintain optimal user experience.
• Diagnose and resolve intricate application problems, including integration issues, data inconsistencies, and security breaches.
• Implement and enforce application security policies, manage user access controls, and monitor for potential security threats.
• Forecast future application needs, scaling infrastructure to accommodate growing demands.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand application requirements and align system functionality with business objectives.
• Ensure applications adhere to relevant industry regulations and compliance standards.
• Lead the response to application-related outages or critical incidents.
• Maintain comprehensive documentation in Jira, Confluence, or any other document repository of network configurations, changes, and operational procedures.

Qualifications

REQUIRED:

• Experience:Minimum of eight years working experience with 5+ years of experience in system administration or a related role

• Technical Expertise:
• In-depth knowledge of various operating systems, such as Windows, Linux, Unix, and their administration.
• Strong understanding of networking protocols, network architecture, and network security principles.
• Knowledge of scripting languages, such as Python and Bash.
• Knowledge of Cloud technologies.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
• Team management abilities.
• Experience working in an Agile organization using Scrum, XP, Kanban, and SAFe.
• Security Clearance: Active Top Secret clearance.

DESIRED:

• FBI Program Experience: Prior exposure to FBI IT/Infrastructure programs and operations is highly desirable, as it will allow for a faster integration into the CJIS Division's mission and objectives.
