The University of Texas at Dallas is hiring a Systems Administrator to support operation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of research and administrative technology environments. You will administer applications, servers, cloud services, and IAM, while ensuring security, reliability, and availability across departments.

The Systems Administrator supports the operation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of research and administrative technology environments. The position administers applications, servers, cloud services, identity and access controls, data storage, backups, and related infrastructure to help ensure systems remain secure, reliable, and available.
This position works with university departments, central IT teams, and external vendors to implement technology solutions, resolve complex technical issues, and coordinate system upgrades, integrations, and migrations. The Systems Administrator exercises independent judgment, manages multiple concurrent priorities, provides day-to-day supervision and technical leadership to assigned staff, and serves as an escalation resource for application and infrastructure support.
Bachelor’s degree in MIS , Computer Science or related field. Minimum of 10 years experience in IT.
To the extent this position requires the holder to research, work on, or have access to critical infrastructure as defined in Section 117.001(2) of the Texas Business and Commerce Code, the ability to maintain the security or integrity of the critical infrastructure is a minimum qualification to be hired and to continue to be employed in the position.
Preference given to internal employees.
After the probationary period, this role may be eligible for a hybrid (partly remote/partly in office) work schedule, subject to business need and manager approval. Must be located within the DFW Area and have the ability to be on campus with 24 hours of notice. A UT Dallas Remote Work Agreement will be required within 14 days after approval.
