Job summary

Brooks Automation is seeking a System Software Engineer in Massachusetts to develop controls software for advanced vacuum systems. You will verify design, automate configuration and testing, and support manufacturing with documentation.

Ideal candidates have >=2 years in C++/C#, plus exposure to EtherCAT, gRPC, Python, PLCs, and RTOS. Strong problem-solving and communication skills are essential in a hybrid work setting.

Qualifications

Bachelor's or Master's in EE/CS with relevant experience.
2+ years in C++ or C# programming.
Experience with electro-mechanical systems preferred.

Responsibilities

Develop next-generation controls software and verify design on vacuum systems.
Automate configuration, calibration, testing, and data collection.
Support manufacturing and maintain process documentation.
Possibly tune motion control and characterize servo performance.
