Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's in STEM with <2 years of relevant experience.
• Experience with systems, software or test engineering.
• Experience performing MIL-STD-882 System Safety Program tasks.

Responsibilities

• Supporting execution of the safety strategy for the program to meet milestones with system safety features integrated into the product.
• Support the program schedule and IMS integrated system safety tasks.
• Engage the Lead System Safety Engineer and Portfolio Engineering Lead for guidance on technical execution and reviews.
• Support multi-IPT program meetings to ensure system safety considerations and understand program issues.
• Ensure leadership understands system safety requirements, hazards, and mitigations.
• Analyze engineering software/firmware per MIL-STD-882E, JSSSEH, AOP-52 and related standards.
• Work with software teams to review and analyze embedded software code.
• Participate in the execution of the Software System Safety Program.
• Interface with customers, program offices, subcontractors, and vendors.
• Assist in preparing Safety Assessment Reports and Safety Program Briefs for customer approval.
• Assist with software safety technical reviews.
• Interpret system requirements, customer specs, and military standards.
• Collaborate across disciplines to understand product architecture and design.
