Job summary

Raytheon is seeking a System Safety Engineer II for onsite roles across multiple New England sites, including Woburn, Marlborough, Andover, Tewksbury or Portsmouth RI. The position requires U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain/maintain a DoD security clearance.

You will develop and execute safety strategies, integrate system safety into the IMS, and work with cross-functional IPTs to ensure hazards are identified, mitigated, and delivered. Relocation eligibility is offered.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 2 years of prior relevant experience.
• Experience with risk assessment concepts.
• Experience with creating technical reports, technical writing and/or creating presentations.

Responsibilities

• Execute the safety strategy for the program to meet all its milestones with system safety/HSI features integrated into the product in compliance with contract and awarded funding
• Support the program schedule and integrated system safety tasks and activities into program Integrated Master Schedule (IMS)
• Engage the Lead System Safety Engineer and Portfolio Engineering Lead for guidance on technical execution, artifact review, attending customer reviews, etc.
• Support multi-IPT program meetings to ensure that system safety items are considered and to understand current program-wide issues
• Ensure program leadership understands system safety requirements, hazards, and planned mitigations
• Meet internal and external commitments (deliveries)
• Own technical solutions and collaborate across IPTs to realize the solution that makes the overall product development and test successful
