Job summary

Frontier Power USA is seeking a System Engineer to support the design, integration, and delivery of utility-scale battery energy storage projects. You will coordinate technical interfaces among battery DC blocks, PCS equipment, medium-voltage systems, plant controls, protection, SCADA, and balance-of-plant equipment from multiple OEMs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, power systems or related field.
• Three or more years in power generation, substations, renewable energy, energy storage, or related industrial power systems.
• Ability to read single-line diagrams, schematics, wiring diagrams, and specifications.
• Experience coordinating technical interfaces with manufacturers, EPCs, utilities, or customers.
• Strong problem-solving, organization, documentation, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain system architecture, diagrams, interfaces, and technical requirements for utility-scale BESS.
• Coordinate integration of battery blocks, PCS, transformers, switchgear, protection, metering, EMS, and SCADA.
• Review OEM drawings, data sheets, compliance docs, interfaces, and operating requirements.
• Prepare interface documents, submittals, and engineering action lists.
• Support equipment selection and technical evaluations for compatibility and safety.
• Collaborate with OEMs, EPCs, utilities, customers, and internal teams to resolve questions.
• Support FAT, commissioning, and performance testing.
• Travel to North Carolina and Vermont locations; travel to sites as needed.
