Job summary

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a System Development Engineer to help build, scale, and operate critical services for US Government customers in dedicated cloud partitions. You will contribute to automation, tool development, and region launches on a geographically distributed team with a strong culture of ownership.

The role requires strong programming skills (C++, Java, Python, etc.) and experience with automation tools. You may need to obtain TS/SCI with polygraph clearance upon hire.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree or above, or CND (Certified Network Defender) or GSEC (GIAC Security Essentials)
• Experience programming with at least one modern language such as C++, C#, Java, Python, Golang, PowerShell, Ruby
• Experience tools for automation (building, testing, releasing or monitoring)

• We are looking for a System Development Engineer to help us build, scale, and operate critical services that directly impact how US Government customers interact with AWS.
• You'll work on a collaborative, geographically distributed team that values autonomy, ownership, and technical depth.
• Design, implement, and improve automation to reduce manual region-launch tasks from hours to minutes; debug latency spikes; push fixes via CI/CD.
