Job summary

Amazon in Austin, TX seeks a System Development Engineer for the Policy & Access Control Engineering (PACE) team. You will design and maintain systems that generate and deploy ACL information to network devices, ensuring high availability and scalability to meet strict SLAs.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align on security guidelines, address technical debt, and optimize performance while balancing availability and cost in a large-scale distributed environment.

Qualifications

Experience automating and supporting large-scale infrastructure.
Proficient in at least one modern language (Python, Ruby, Golang, Java, C++, C#, Rust).
Strong Linux/Unix experience.
Experience with CI/CD build processes.
3+ years of designing or architecting scalable systems.

Responsibilities

Identify business problems, gather data, propose solutions, and lead implementation.
Lead development and maintenance of systems that generate and deploy ACL information to network devices with high availability.
Partner with cross-functional teams to align on requirements, security guidelines, and best practices for ACL management.
Proactively identify and address technical debt, architectural limitations, and performance bottlenecks.
Ensure robust monitoring, alerting, and troubleshooting for ACL management systems.
Consider availability, operations, maintenance, and cost.
Design the complete solution stack and deliver through others.
