Job summary

Amazon Data Services, Inc. in Austin, TX is seeking a SYSDEV Engineer II to bridge hardware, firmware, and software across AWS security products for our global data center fleet.

You will own system integration, firmware validation, and network/server connectivity, collaborating with hardware development, security operations, and infrastructure teams to deliver reliable, scalable security solutions across the data center ecosystem.

Qualifications

• Experience automating, deploying, and supporting large-scale infrastructure.
• Experience with Linux/Unix environments.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and build processes.
• Knowledge of systems engineering fundamentals (networking, storage, operating systems).
• Experience troubleshooting and debugging technical systems with strong analytical and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Architect and maintain the integration of physical security hardware within the broader security ecosystem (firmware, network, server).
• Define system-level interfaces and data flows between devices, management servers, and cloud-based monitoring.
• Collaborate with security operations to ensure end-to-end workflows across AWS data centers.
• Develop system architecture documentation describing interfaces with data center infrastructure.
• Define requirements for new product integrations ensuring compatibility with existing security infrastructure.
• Design and implement network connectivity solutions and firewall rule definitions for security hardware.
• Design and execute system-level test plans for firmware, network, and server integration.
