Job summary

PDS Defense, Inc. is seeking a System Design & Integration Specialist 3 to design, configure and operate advanced AV systems for US government customers in Herndon, VA.

The role requires active TS/SCI clearance and will involve onsite installation, testing, and client coordination across multiple sites. The successful candidate will lead design efforts, draft system documentation, and develop training materials while staying current with industry certifications and best practices for AV

Qualifications

• 3+ years of related work experience for level 3.
• 5+ years of related work experience for level 4.
• Must be able to travel to various job sites as needed.
• AV systems field installation experience.
• This position is for first shift but may require occasional after-hours support.
• An adjudicated Counterintelligence Polygraph.

Responsibilities

• Survey, plan, develop, design, configure, and test AV solutions for government customers.
• Lead or attend customer meetings to document system requirements and options.
• Draft system engineering documentation including diagrams, BOMs and rack elevations.
• Support onsite installation and coordination with facilities teams and vendors.
• Develop end-user training materials and O&M plans.
• Perform in-house testing and on-site commissioning at client locations.

Job Description:

The AV engineering will design, configure, and operate advanced AV systems for US government customers.

Position Responsibilities

• Survey, plan, develop, design, configure, and test multi-classification AV solutions for government customers. Generate custom audiovisual system designs, including DSP layouts and systems configuration.

• Lead or attend customer stakeholder meetings to collect and document or validate system requirements. Research, identify, and recommend technology options to solve customer problems.

• Draft system engineering documentation, including signal flows, line diagrams, bills of materials, rack elevations, and cable plants.

• Support onsite installation of AV systems and lead system configuration phases. Coordinate with customer facilities teams and other onsite sub-contractors and vendors during systems installation as required.

• Support the development of end-user training materials and operations & maintenance plans.

• Perform in-house testing and on-site commissioning at client locations.

• Develop expertise in the industry through continuing training, certifications, and review of trade publications.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience)

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience)

• Associate degree or higher.

• AVIXA CTScertification.

• DSP platform (Biamp, QSC, etc.) experience.

• Experience with Crestron, Extron, and Thinklogical systems.

*An adjudicated Full Scope Polygraph.

Education / Experience

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience, 9 years' related work experience, etc.).
