System Administrator - Onsite IT & Network Expert (Detroit)

Job summary

The 20 LLC, a nationwide MSP and growth platform, is seeking a System Administrator to maintain and optimize our IT environment, support internal and client systems, and contribute to a culture of trust and collaboration.

The role involves onsite travel to Detroit area clients, strong focus on AD, M365, virtualization, and network infrastructure, with opportunities to influence IT strategy and operations across multiple teams.

Qualifications

• Associate or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, System Administration, or a closely related field, or equivalent experience required
• 4-6 years of IT administration experience
• System administration and IT certifications in Microsoft, or other network related fields are a plus
• Working knowledge of virtualization, VMWare, Hyper‑V, or equivalent
• Strong knowledge of systems and networking software, hardware, and networking protocols
• Experience with scripting and automation tools
• A proven track record of developing and implementing IT strategy and plans
• Strong knowledge of implementing and effectively developing helpdesk and IT operations best practices, including expert knowledge of security, storage, data protection, and disaster recovery protocols

Responsibilities

• Maintain, configure, and ensure reliable operation of computer systems, network servers, workstations and networking equipment
• Install and upgrade computer components and software
• Troubleshoot hardware and software errors with diagnostics, documentation, and impact assessment
• Provide documentation and technical specifications to Project Team and Manager for planning/upgrades
• Lead desktop and helpdesk support to resolve issues with minimal disruption
• Travel onsite to client locations to provide hands-on technical support and implement solutions to ensure continuity of services
