Job summary

Sandia Area Federal Credit Union seeks a System Administrator to design, build, and maintain virtual, physical, and cloud infrastructure across VMware, Azure, M365, Intune, and ManageEngine. You’ll automate tasks, perform patching, ensure backups with Veeam, and align controls with NIST/CISA frameworks.

Reporting to the Lead System Administrator, you’ll support security posture, provide vendor liaison, and contribute to enterprise IT projects while offering technical leadership and on-call cover.

Qualifications

• Experience with virtualization and on-premises and cloud infrastructures.
• Experience with Office 365, Azure, and Asana.
• Ability to write and maintain clear IT documentation.
• Ability to convey technical information to non-technical users.
• Willingness to travel between worksites and drive as needed.
• Background in security practices and backup/recovery routines.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and optimize server infrastructure (on-prem and cloud).
• Manage endpoint configuration and patch deployment with Intune and ManageEngine.
• Perform regular backups with Veeam and verify data integrity.
• Review security architecture and align with NIST/CISA controls and audits.
• Develop and update scripts (PowerShell/Bash) and manage user accounts/permissions.
• Provide escalation support and vendor coordination; participate in on-call rotations.
