Job summary

Sandia Area Federal Credit Union is hiring a System Administrator I to design, build, and maintain both on‑premise and cloud server environments, reporting to the Lead System Administrator. The role emphasizes security, backups, and efficient IT operations in a credit union setting.

You will manage user accounts, patch systems, automate tasks with scripts, and collaborate with vendors and the IT team to support growth and reliability.

Qualifications

• Basic working knowledge in virtualization systems and ability to optimize them.
• Ability to work with cloud-based applications such as Office 365, Azure, and Asana.
• Ability to write, maintain, and organize documentation for IT systems and related issues.
• Ability to communicate highly technical information into user-friendly terms.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and implement virtual and physical server infrastructure on premise and in the cloud.
• Maintain servers, networks, user accounts, permissions, and security.
• Install, patch, and update hardware/software; manage backups and vendor SLAs.
• Create and update IT department documentation; participate in on-call rotation.
