Job summary

BayCare Health System seeks a System Communications Strategist to craft and share the organization’s story across internal and external audiences. The role requires collaboration, adaptability, and the ability to translate complex information for diverse channels.

You will develop strategic plans, coordinate content, and support media relations while aligning with BayCare’s mission and values in a hybrid work setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Mass Communications, Journalism, or a related field required.
• 7 years of communications experience with a healthcare provider, corporate department, or agency required.
• APR certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement multimedia communication strategies for internal and external channels across system projects, service lines, divisions, and campaigns.
• Create and manage communications including press releases, portal content, newsletters, emails, social media, reports, meetings, and events.

System Communications Strategist

Position Summary

The System Communications Strategist is an experienced communications professional responsible for helping share BayCare’s story with internal and external audiences. This role requires a collaborative, adaptable professional who can develop strategic communications and effectively communicate complex information across a variety of channels.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement multimedia communication strategies for internal and external channels supporting system-wide projects, service lines, divisions, and campaigns.
• Create and manage communications including press releases, team member portal content, newsletters, emails, social media content, reports, meetings, and events.
• Build strong relationships with internal customers, BayCare leaders, and subject matter experts to gather information and develop written and visual content for team members, the public, and media.
• Support media relations by preparing key messages, materials, and scripts, as well as providing coaching, counseling, and media interaction.
• Fact-check content and coordinate appropriate reviews and approvals to ensure communications are accurate, complete, and relevant.
• Facilitate issues management activities.
• Develop and monitor metrics to evaluate communication effectiveness and recommend improvements as appropriate.

Minimum Qualifications

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Mass Communications, Journalism, or a related field required.
• Master’s degree in a related field preferred.

Experience

• 7 years of communications experience with a healthcare provider, corporate department, or agency required.
• 3 years of experience working with healthcare experts and/or complex subject matter , in addition to the required experience, preferred.
