Job summary

PowerSecure, Inc. is seeking a Switchgear Quality Control Technician for 1st shift. You will perform quality inspections and functional tests on switchgear to ensure code compliance, proper function, and safe energization before leaving the plant.

The role requires a high school diploma and NFPA70E familiarity, with strong documentation and a capacity to interpret electrical schematics. Prior switchgear or generator experience is preferred, and PPE, forklift use, and physical stamina are

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• NFPA70E required or provided if satisfactory.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, manuals, directions.
• Ability to document test results and specs clearly.
• Ability to perform basic arithmetic for measurements and ratios.
• Must wear and maintain PPE.
• Experience with switchgear/electrical/generator systems or related engineering/programming background.

Responsibilities

• Perform quality inspections and functional testing on switchgear.
• Ensure gear meets electrical codes and design specs.
• Record test results and component specs accurately.
• Load files and test sequences as per project notes.
• Move gear using forklift or pallet jack.
• Assist with panel removal/reinstallation up to 50 lb.
• Other duties as assigned by management.
