Job summary

Crown Technical Systems in Fontana, CA is seeking a Switchgear Assembler to join our production team. You will assemble switchgear cabinets per specifications, using power tools and hand tools, under the supervision of the Production Manager and the Switchgear Assembler leadership.

The role requires 2–4 years of manufacturing experience, ability to read blueprints and wiring diagrams, and safe operation of powered equipment such as forklifts and cranes.

Qualifications

• 2-4 years of related experience in assembly or manufacturing setting.
• Prior experience operating powered equipment (forklift, reach truck, scissors lift, overhead crane, etc.)
• Reading comprehension skills with the ability to interpret and follow written directions, blueprints, wiring drawings, schematics, and engineering diagrams
• Basic math skills to meet technical specifications and measurements
• Demonstrated proficiency with the ability to safely operate powered equipment (forklift, reach truck, scissors lift, overhead crane, etc.)
• Must wear PPE, such as gloves, safety glasses, hard hat, and ear protection, while working on the production floor

Responsibilities

• Review, analyze, and follow various blueprints, diagrams, drawing, procedures, and work instructions to complete assemblies for enclosure buildings
• Mechanical assembly of components for switchgear cabinets
• Uses various power tools and hand tools to accomplish assigned tasks
• Conduct quality assurance checks to confirm that assembled products meet specifications and quality standards
• Identify any product defects; record and report them accordingly
• Monitor and maintain inventory of necessary supplies, tools, and parts in work station
• Maintain a clean and safe work area
• Perform all other duties as assigned
