Job summary

A leading electrical and mechanical assembly company in South Carolina seeks a skilled Mechanical Assembler to join their team. Job description

Overview
  • Assemble switchgear cabinets and enclosures according to engineering drawings and work instructions
  • Perform mechanical assembly including mounting components, panels, frames, and hardware
  • Read and interpret technical diagrams, schematics, and wiring prints
  • Use hand tools and power tools safely and effectively
  • Verify assemblies meet quality standards and specifications
  • Identify and report assembly issues, missing parts, or discrepancies
  • Follow safety procedures, ESD practices, and production guidelines
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area
Required Qualifications
  • Experience as a Mechanical Assembler, Electrical Assembler, or similar role
  • Experience assembling electrical cabinets, control panels, or switchgear
  • Ability to read and understand technical drawings, diagrams, and schematics
  • Familiarity with basic wiring (point‑to‑point wiring, cable routing, labeling)
  • Comfortable using hand tools and power tools
  • Strong attention to detail and quality
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 30 lbs.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Background in industrial, electrical, or manufacturing environments
  • Understanding of electrical safety standards
  • Technical training or vocational certification (a plus)
