Job summary

Winn-Marion Companies in Centennial, CO is seeking a Switchgear Technician I to join a team building electrical switchgear cabinets, subassemblies, and panelboards. You will follow mechanical layouts, wiring diagrams, and verbal instructions to assemble components and install breakers, drives, and other assemblies.

The role requires a High School diploma or GED, 1–3 years of wiring experience, familiarity with blueprints, and strong manual dexterity.

Qualifications

  • High School graduate or GED equivalent from an accredited institution required.
  • 1-3 years of experience with wiring electricity and electronics is preferred.
  • Experience with blueprints, schematics, diagrams, and point to point drawings is preferred.
  • Must be dedicated, hardworking, focused, and have a high attention to detail.
  • Must enjoy teamwork, learning, variety, and working with your hands.
  • Must be able to perform repetitive work while maintaining high standards of quality.
  • Good eye-hand coordination is required.
  • Must have great color vision and the ability to identify wires by color.
  • Hand dexterity is important, as small parts may need to be assembled.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble switchgear cabinets, subassemblies, panelboards, and systems per mechanical layout drawings, wiring diagrams, sample assemblies, and/or verbal instructions.
  • Use of both standard tools like drills, screwdrivers, and torque wrenches as well as specialized tools such as hydraulic presses, cable strippers, power lug crimpers, wire marking machines, etc. typical for industrial automation assembly.
  • Learn the functionality of all common components and their proper use.
  • Safely operate a variety of tools and machinery in the assembly of products.
  • Capable of utilizing highly automated equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Maintain professional behavior and proper communication with internal and external contacts, including company employees, managers, and outside vendors.
  • Show understanding of the details of assembly drawings.
  • Comply with all safety work procedures.
