Job description

Job Summary:

The Telecommunications Operator provides efficient and courteous handling of telecommunications services in the hospital, including answering calls, maintaining and operating switchboard equipment, and dispensing patient information. Provides paging/beeper services, and serves as back-up for the Info Desk Receptionist.

Specifications:

- High school graduate or equivalent.

- Experience working with telephone switchboard equipment is desirable.

- Must possess a good memory, a clear, well-modulated voice, strong interpersonal skills, and be fluent in English.

- Ability to perform job duties in a noisy environment with frequent interruptions.
