Job summary

The Resident of North Ridge in New Hope, MN is seeking a Switchboard Operator to join our care team. This part-time position offers a 7:00am–2:00pm shift every other weekend with a competitive salary and comprehensive benefits.

Responsibilities include managing the main telephone system, paging, and assisting residents and staff while maintaining strict privacy per HIPAA guidelines. Prior receptionist experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma or equivalent.
• Receptionist experience is preferred.
• Must type 35 wpm and have good spelling and proofreading skills.
• Must have thorough knowledge of facility operation and physical layout.
• Must exercise confidentiality to ensure HIPAA compliance.

Responsibilities

• Operate main telephone system (15-line) and transfer calls to the right personnel.
• Overhead paging and two-way radio/radio paging system operation.
• Maintain current resident and employee lists and emergency contact information.
• Monitor emergency systems and security/entrance access per procedures.
• Assist with guest meal tickets, sell stamps, and assist residents as needed.

Duties

Major Job functions of the Switchboard Operator include operating main telephone systems including answering calls on a 15-line phone system; transferring calls to appropriate personnel; overhead paging; operating two-way radio and radio paging system; maintaining list of current residents and employees and emergency contact information. Responsibility for all emergency systems includes following established procedures in response to various emergency conditions; monitoring security monitors and access control systems; monitor main entrances. Miscellaneous duties also include assisting with guest meal tickets, selling stamps and assisting residents as needed.

Qualifications

Requires high school graduate. Receptionist experience is preferred. The position requires a pleasant speaking voice and ability to perform tasks confidently under stressful circumstances. Must be able to type 35 wpm and have good spelling and proofreading skills. Must have a thorough knowledge of facility operation and physical layout. Must be able to exercise confidentiality to ensure compliance with all HIPAA regulations. The successful candidate must be able to handle frequent interruptions and have the desire to work at a fast pace. This position requires excellent communication skills and the ability to problem solve. Computer knowledge is preferred.
