Job summary

McLaren Lapeer Region is seeking a full-time Switchboard/Call Attendant to operate the Cisco Phone System, greet patients and staff, and route calls. The role monitors alarms, handles emergency lines, and notifies physicians using paging systems.

After-hours coverage includes calls for Hospice, Home Care and Infusion satellites. You will also support central copy, mailroom, and delivery tasks across departments.

Answers calls for MHG satellites (Hospice, Home Care and Infusion) after hours. Processes and delivers all forms and central copy jobs, as needed for departments. Performs central copy and mailroom functions. Delivers mail, test results, medical records and informational data to all departments. Delivers and exchanges patient telephones and other communication equipment as needed for departments. Assists with various communication and other department projects.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

• Operates the call attendant Cisco Phone system (switchboard)
• Monitors all alarms in the Communications area, and uses various paging systems to page/notify physicians and staff members
• Answers and handles emergency telephone calls
• Utilizes and updates the on line MHG and physician call schedule as needed.

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Must be able to alphabetize and file
• Ability to read and write

Preferred

• Previous experience/training as a Switchboard Operator
• Clerical skills
• Computer training - Microsoft Office application
