Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years Swiss-type CNC setup experience.
• Ability to read mechanical drawings and tight tolerances.
• Experience with CITIZEN/STAR/TSUGAMI preferred.

Responsibilities

• Set up jobs, as scheduled, to run on our CITIZEN, STAR or TSUGAMI Swiss-type lathes, including guide bushing setup, bar feeder loading, and sub-spindle/live-tool operations.
• Follow established manufacturing processes and procedures. Work with the programmer to ensure accuracy and completeness of all setup and job-related work instructions.
• Responsible for 1st piece approval and machine hand-off, as well as training and/or overseeing multiple operators.
• Ensure that cycle time expectations are met or exceeded.
• Make offsets, speed/feed and rapid edits as needed to further improve cycle time, tool life and quality.
• Inspect parts to ensure conformance to quality specifications, holding tight tolerances on small-diameter turned features using micrometers, calipers, pin gauges, optical comparators, microscopes and other measuring tools as required.
• Operate machines as required between setups, monitoring bar stock, coolant and tool wear during unattended or lights‑out runs.
• Follow procedures as needed to address non‑conformities.
• Document inspection data, outcomes or results as needed.
• Maintain a safe, clean and organized work environment.
