Job summary

Ilocatum seeks a Swiss CNC Setup Machinist to set up and operate complex, close-tolerance work on Swiss-type lathes. You will ensure first part quality and assist in training others, while improving cycle times and maintaining strict procedures.

Qualifications

• Must have minimum 2 years Swiss-type CNC setup experience (CITIZEN, STAR, TSUGAMI preferred).
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and tight-tolerance prints.
• Physical ability to safely lift objects up to 50 lbs and stand/walk for extended periods.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to prioritize and multi-task; work with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Set up jobs on Swiss-type lathes (CITIZEN, STAR, TSUGAMI) including guide bushing setup and sub-spindle/live tooling.
• Follow manufacturing processes; work with programmers to ensure accurate setup instructions.
• Responsible for 1st piece approval and machine hand-off; train/oversee operators.
• Maintain cycle time targets and optimize tool life and quality.
• Inspect parts to tight tolerances using micrometers, calipers, gauges, and optical comparators.
• Operate machines between setups; monitor stock, coolant, and tool wear.
• Document inspection results and maintain a safe, clean work area.
