Job summary

Tree Top Staffing LLC in a growing precision shop seeks a Swiss CNC Setup Machinist. You will program, set up, and prove out multi-axis Swiss lathes, supporting five Star machines and transitioning parts from engineering drawings to production.

The role emphasizes establishing reliable processes, assisting operators, and troubleshooting to improve efficiency, with a focus on quality and on-time handoffs.

Qualifications

• Independently write CNC programs from scratch and set up new parts.
• Experience programming, setting up, and operating Swiss lathes (Star, Citizen, Tsugami, Nomura or similar).
• 3+ years of relevant experience preferred; independent capability valued over years.
• Strong blueprint-reading and GD&T knowledge.
• Familiarity with guide bushings, sub-spindle sync, and live tooling.
• Proficiency with precision measuring instruments and close-tolerance machining.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Perform complete setups on multi-axis Swiss CNC lathes, selecting and aligning tools and bar feeders.
• Write and edit programs from drawings or models; load and prove out new programs.
• Coordinate tooling packages and job changes with scheduling ahead of time.
• Set offsets, run initial parts, and make corrections for accuracy.
• Inspect first pieces and obtain QA approval before production.
• Train operators on established jobs and assist with repeat setups.
