Job summary

Metals USA -- Gregor Technologies Division is seeking a CNC Swiss Turning Machine Operator (1st shift) in Torrington, CT. You will plan, set up, and operate Swiss turning equipment, interpreting drawings, GD&T, and tooling requirements while ensuring parts meet specifications.

Responsibilities include programming basics, tool setup, and first-run verification. Prior experience with Nomura machines and CAD/CAM is a plus; competitive hourly pay and benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Two-year technical degree and/or apprenticeship preferred.
• Experience as a CNC Swiss Turning Machine Operator required.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and measuring instruments.
• NIMS certificate is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Plan machining by studying work orders, blueprints, GD&T and parameters.
• Prepare and operate CNC machines with proper programs, tools and materials.
• Translate instructions into machine commands and set tool offsets.
• Program lathes by entering instructions and calculating requirements.
• Set up mills and lathes with chucks, tools, attachments and stops.
• Load raw materials and parts onto machines and run production.
• Perform first-run checks and measure results for conformance.
• Monitor and adjust machines for quality and efficiency.
• Complete production paperwork and follow inspection procedures.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
