Job summary

HORST ENGINEERING & MANUFACTURING CO in East Hartford, CT, seeks a skilled CNC Machinist to set up and operate Swiss turning machines to produce precision components. The role is on 1st or 2nd shift (7am-3:30pm or 3:00-11:30pm) with 15% shift differential for 2nd shift and requires reading blueprints and operation sheets.

Responsibilities include process setup, tooling changes, quality inspections, and collaboration with operators.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent; technical school training a plus.
• 3+ years set-up experience in CNC machining.
• Experience with aerospace or close tolerance parts is a plus.
• Must read and write comments, operation sheets and blueprints.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate Swiss Turning machines (Citizen L20, A20, A32, M32, M32Y).
• Work with blueprints, operation sheets, travelers, or other specs.
• Perform machining to meet quality standards and specs.
• Check materials meet specifications and retrieve bar stock as needed.
• Perform complex set-ups and tool changes; edit programs as necessary.
• Assist others with set-ups and training; ensure quality compliance.
• Record part counts, perform inspections with gauges, and document scrap.
• Maintain clean work area and perform routine equipment maintenance.
