Job summary

iLocatum in Hartford, CT is seeking a Swiss CNC Applications Engineer to support turnkey projects, technical training, and pre-sale engineering for Swiss style lathes and other CNC equipment. This hands-on, customer-facing role requires deep Swiss CNC knowledge and the ability to act as the technical expert in the room.

Qualifications

• Experience in Sliding Headstock (Swiss) CNC machine tool engineering and manufacturing.
• In-depth knowledge of the machine tool industry and relevant product lines.
• Knowledge of Fanuc based controls.
• Willingness to travel to customer sites as needed.

Responsibilities

• Run turnkey projects, demonstrations, and customer related projects from start to finish, on time and within budget
• Support pre-sale activities including customer visits, opportunity evaluation, machine assessment, part processing recommendations, and turnkey proposal development
• Develop and deliver custom demonstrations, and train customers on the safe setup and operation of CNC machining centers, lathes, grinders, Swiss style lathes, and multi-tasking machines
• Prepare accurate cost estimates, write engineering reports, and interpret plans and specifications
• Travel to customer sites for on site training and engineering assistance
