Job summary

Tom Trese Networking LLC in Hartford, CT is seeking a Field Engineer to lead turnkey CNC projects, demos, and pre-sale evaluations while guiding customers on the safe setup and operation of CNC machining centers, lathes, grinders, Swiss lathes and multitasking machines.

Responsibilities include developing demonstrations, providing on-site training, preparing cost estimates, and traveling to customer sites for engineering assistance.

Qualifications

• Experience with sliding headstock (Swiss) CNC machine tools in engineering/manufacturing.
• Strong knowledge of the machine tool industry and the company’s product lines.
• Knowledge of Fanuc-based controls; 5-axis experience is a plus.
• Experience with CAD/CAM software preferred.

Responsibilities

• Run turnkey projects, demos and customer projects to finish on time and within budget.
• Conduct pre-sale activities including customer visits, evaluate opportunities, machine assessment, and turnkey proposals.
• Develop and implement custom demonstrations and training customers on safe setup and operation of CNC machines.
• Train customers in safe setup/operation of CNC machining centers and multi-tasking machines.
• Prepare accurate cost estimates, write engineering reports, interpret plans and specifications.
• Travel to customer sites for on-site training and engineering assistance.

Job description

Duties:

• Running turnkey projects, demonstrations, and other customer related projects to ensure they are completed on time and within budget


• Conducting pre-sale activities and reviews including customer visits, evaluation of opportunities, machine assessment and recommendations, part processing recommendations and development of turnkey proposal


• Developing/ implementing custom demonstrations and training customers in the safe set up and operation of CNC machining centers, lathes, grinders, Swiss style lathes and/ or multi-tasking machines


• Conducts training of customers in the safe set-up and operation of CNC machining centers, lathes, grinders, Swiss style lathes and/or multi-tasking machines.


• Making accurate cost estimates, writing engineering reports, and interpreting plans and specifications


• Travel to customers for on site training and engineering assistance.

Qualifications:

• Experience in Sliding Headstock (Swiss) CNC machine tool related engineering and manufacturing


• Possessing and maintaining an in-depth knowledge of machine tool industry and product lines represented by the company


• Knowledge of Fanuc based controls, 5-axis experience is a plus


• Experience with CAD/CAM software, preferred but not required.


• Able to think quickly, assess a situation and make a sound decision.
