Job summary

Tom Trese is seeking a skilled engineer to manage turnkey projects and provide customer training on CNC machining centers and related equipment. Responsibilities include conducting pre-sale activities, developing proposals, and ensuring projects meet budget and timelines.

The ideal candidate will have experience in Swiss CNC engineering, an understanding of machine tool industry standards, and proficiency in CAD/CAM software.

Qualifications

• Experience in Sliding Headstock (Swiss) CNC machine tool engineering and manufacturing.
• In-depth knowledge of machine tool industry and products.
• Knowledge of Fanuc based controls; 5-axis is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Running turnkey projects and ensuring timely completion within budget.
• Conducting pre-sale activities including evaluations and custom proposals.
• Training customers on CNC machining centers operation.

Job description

Duties

• Running turnkey projects, demonstrations, and other customer related projects to ensure they are completed on time and within budget
• Conducting pre-sale activities and reviews including customer visits, evaluation of opportunities, machine assessment and recommendations, part processing recommendations and development of turnkey proposal
• Developing/ implementing custom demonstrations and training customers in the safe set up and operation of CNC machining centers, lathes, grinders, Swiss style lathes and/ or multi-tasking machines
• Conducts training of customers in the safe set-up and operation of CNC machining centers, lathes, grinders, Swiss style lathes and/or multi-tasking machines.
• Making accurate cost estimates, writing engineering reports, and interpreting plans and specifications
• Travel to customers for on site training and engineering assistance.

Qualifications

• Experience in Sliding Headstock (Swiss) CNC machine tool related engineering and manufacturing
• Possessing and maintaining an in-depth knowledge of machine tool industry and product lines represented by the company
• Knowledge of Fanuc based controls, 5-axis experience is a plus
• Experience with CAD/CAM software and conversational programming
• Able to think quickly, assess a situation and make a sound decision.
