Cooper Farms in Fort Recovery, OH is seeking a Swine Service Representative to work closely with the production manager and growers to monitor the health of swine and support herd management.

The role requires strong communication, observation and organizational skills; regular hours Monday–Friday 7:30am–4:00pm. Starting rate commensurate with experience, plus monthly and year-end profit-sharing bonuses based on company performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in animal science is preferred; associate degree with experience will be considered.
• A valid driver license is required.
• Ability to work well with others.
• Must have excellent observation, communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate swine health with growers and production manager to monitor each herd.
• Identify, project and schedule hog loads for market and maintain target sale weights.
• Maintain sanitation standards and communicate with loading crews and trucking companies.
• Keep records, complete receipts, and visit farms weekly; coach new growers.

Our Fort Recovery Feed & Animal Division in Mercer and Darke counties, in Ohio, produces and delivers feed while providing support to our contract farmers raising animals for production. Cooper Farms is currently seeking a Swine Service Representative to join our team in Fort Recovery .

The primary goal of this position is to work closely with our production manager, other servicing managers and growers in monitoring the health of swine.

SHIFT HOURS: Monday through Friday 7:30am-4:00pm

STARTING RATE: Commensurate with experience

ADDITIONAL PAY: Monthly and year-end profit-sharing bonuses (dependent upon company performance)

Job Functions:

• Coordinate all aspects of swine health, working with growers to manage each herd. This includes, but not limited to:
  • Ensure good health of swine
  • Solve grower management problems
  • Solve swine disease problems that arise
  • Mark individual top hogs for market
  • Identify, project and schedule hog loads for market
  • Maintain target sale weights and weight ranges
  • Follow through on problem herds
  • Practice good sanitation standards
  • Communicate effectively with growers and producers
  • Communicate effectively with loading crews and trucking companies
  • Keeps records, fills out receipts, and visits farms weekly
  • Teach new growers proper husbandry techniques
• Make suggestions to make the Swine Division more efficient.
