Job summary

YMCA is seeking an Assistant Swim Team Coach to support the Head Coach in leading age-appropriate practices for groups of swimmers. You will promote the YMCA's values and mission within the community and school setting.

Responsibilities include attending practices and meets, teaching stroke technique, providing corrective feedback, ensuring safety, building relationships with swimmers and parents, and assisting with volunteer recruitment and equipment organization.

Qualifications

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent human relations skills.
• American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer preferred.
• Prior coaching experience preferred.
• Must be able to demonstrate correct swim techniques and strokes.

Responsibilities

• Attend all practices and swim meets.
• Provide corrective feedback to improve swimmers' technique.
• Lead warm ups.
• Organize equipment.
• Build relationships with students and parents.
• Assist with recruiting volunteers and parent groups/committees.
• Ensure swimmer safety during practice.
• Perform additional tasks as assigned by supervisors.
