YMCA of Metropolitan Atlanta is seeking a Swim Team Assistant Coach to support competitive and recreational programs, implement training plans, and help swimmers reach their goals in a supportive, values-driven environment. Under the Head Coach, you’ll help with practice sessions, safety, and community outreach as part of our mission to develop youth through sport, literacy, and wellness.

Qualifications

• Minimum age 16 and background in competitive swimming.
• 1 year of coaching experience with various ages.
• Excellent teaching skills and knowledge of stroke development.
• Able to relate to diverse groups with professional image.

Responsibilities

• Teach all groups by following the Head Coach's plan.
• Assess swimmer goals and provide feedback.
• Assist with recruitment, parent communication, and meet lineups.
• Support community events and fundraising.
• Maintain records of progress and attend meetings.
• Represent YMCA at meets and events.
• Ensure safety of participants and follow emergency procedures.
• Promote positive practice environment aligned with YMCA values.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
