Job summary

SafeSplash South Plainfield is seeking a Deck Supervisor/Lifeguard/Instructor to oversee pool safety and supervision. You will guard the pool, enforce safety rules, assist swimmers and instructors, and respond to emergencies as needed while documenting incidents.

Qualifications

• Must maintain Red Cross Lifeguard certification and current CPR/AED for adults, infants, and swimmers.
• Previous swim instruction experience is required.
• Able to complete lifeguarding prerequisites to American Red Cross standards.
• Swim instructor role focuses on teaching skills per Streamline Brands curriculum in a fun, positive manner.
• Provide continuous, positive feedback to students while ensuring swimmer safety.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the lifeguard on duty and observe/patrol pool area.
• Enforce safety regulations per American Red Cross Lifeguard standards.
• Assist swimmers and swim instructors as needed.
• Provide emergency care and treatment until EMS arrival.
• Prepare and maintain incident reports.

What will you do as a Deck Supervisor/LifeGuard/Instructor?

• Serve as the lifeguard on duty.
• Responsible for observing and patrolling the pool area, enforcing safety regulations as outlined in American Red Cross Lifeguard standards
• Assist swimmers in and around the pool area as well as swim instructors, as needed
• Provide emergency care and treatment as required until the arrival of emergency medical services.
• Prepare and maintain appropriate incident reports.

What are we looking for in a Deck Supervisor/LifeGuard/Instructor?

• Maintain Red Cross Lifeguard certification, Red Cross CPR/AED certification for adult, infant and swimmer
• Previous swim instruction experience is required
• Must be able to successfully complete all lifeguarding prerequisites to American Red Cross standards
• The main focus of a swim instructor is to teach swimming skills in accordance with Streamline Brands curriculum in a fun, positive manner
• Provide continuous, positive corrective feedback to students and customers on their swimming efforts
• Structure class time appropriately to incorporate repetition, reinforcement, and introduction of required skills
